The skirting boards can be placed on top of the wall or they can be installed flush. Surface mounting is particularly suitable for solid walls in combination with comprehensive door frames, which then close the sides of the skirting boards. Alternatively, the skirting boards can also be processed undercut by using plasterboard, so the skirting boards are flush with the wall and don‘t protrude into the room.
