Border section no. 718 - Laying instructions

(1) Scope of application

Border sections are used to cover all-round joints between the floor and the wall and to create a ready-to-install sub-floor. We always find edge joints all around the walls, where the screed is decoupled from the wall using an edge insulation strip to avoid sound bridges to the masonry. It is not possible to fill or glue on the insulation strip. If the floor covering is not a hard covering, it will fall into the joint at this point. Optical cladding is then only possible using a skirting board, which does not have a flat contact surface. The new innovative border section 718 provides a solution.

(2) Assembly of the profile

The border section 718 is placed at he wall as required, on fire protection joints for example over the fiber insulation strip, and glued or leveled on the screed. The profile gets its stability from its material thickness and the wide support on the screed. Cut the profile to the desired length. Internal and external corners should be mitered for stability.

(3) Gluing / filling the profile

Fasten the prepared profile to the surface using a 2 component or SMP / hybrid assembly adhesive. Then fill in the profiles punched holes using a stable filler. Pull the filler out to zero in the spatial direction.
